Pioneer X-CM30 Mini Component comes with iPod Dock, no iPhone support

Today, the Japanese wing of Pioneer announces its Mini Hi-Fi Component with built-in iPod Dock. Like most other Hi-Fi system, the Pioneer X-CM30 features MP3 or WMA playback,  DAP (digital audio processing) CD / CD-R / CD-RW support, USB slot, and FM / AM. With total power of 24W, it support all versions of the iPod, including the new iPod Nano, and iTouch. It plays music as well as stream video from your iPod, but the sad thing is.. It’s not compatible with the iPhone. That means you have to put your iPhone to Airplane mode and use it as an iPod Touch.

iPod Nano Jailbreak – Not Possible

The touchscreen interface on the 6G iPod Nano makes me think that it runs on iOS, however according to  a report, it appears that it’s not running on the iOS despite having gesture controls similar to devices running on iOS. This means no “nano apps” for you and no jailbreaking either since it looks like the Nano’s OS is based on the old nano system tweaked to have that iOS flavour.

New 6G iPod Nano Gets Touchscreen, 4G Shuffle with Old Buttons

Apple recently updates its iPod line, with new redesigned iPod Nano and a seemingly backward designed iPod Shuffle. It appears that rumors about the 6th Generation iPod Nano is real, the new Nano is now 46% smaller than its predecessor, have a touch screen iOS-like interface, and a clip. There’s no home button, the volume control and sleep/wake button are located at the top. The redesigned Nano’s anodized aluminum finish is an eye-candy and is available in seven vibrant colours which includes black, grey, blue, green, orange, pink and red. Additional features includes Nike+ Support, FM Radio, accelerometer, pedometer, and apps including clock, voice memo, fitness, genius mixes, podcasts and photos. Apple also removed the built-in camera and it’s not clear if the new iPod Nano is capable of playing videos (who would watch a movie on a tiny square screen). To be shipped this September 15th, Hard Candy cases reveals it’s tough looking 4th Generation iPod Touch case. The Street Skin for the iTouch 4G, is a snap-on case made from rubberized TPU material for optimum shock absorption. It provides full acces to the iPod Touch 4G functions as well as a hole for the back camera and microphone. Aside from the usual functions, the Street Skin for the 4th Generation iPod Touch suggests that the next iTouch will have an aluminum back as what most iPod Touch Fans want. It also appears that it will have a standard definition camera, like the ones on the 5th Generation iPod Nano.

6G iPod Nano is a crossbreed between the iPod Touch, Shuffle and Nano

Apple’s September 1 music event is due in several hours and the one thing that most people want to see is the 6th Generation iPod Nano. There had been speculations about the upcoming Nano which are fueled by leaked photos of of the LCD screen and third party iPod Nano Touch cases. First, is the screen protector and silicone case purportedly discovered by twitter user hobbsy101. The screen protector photos posted on yFrog, suggests that the front screen may look like the miniature  iPod Touch without the home button while the silicone case reveals that 6th Gen Nano is a mix between the shuffle, iPod Touch and the current generation Nano. It looks like, it have a dock connector of the Nano and the iPod Touch, an open back for the clip, hold switch and a headphone jack positioned like what’s on the current iPod Shuffle.  If you look at the leaked X-Doria (Japanese Site) cases for the 6G Nano it somehow reveals the same description, however it features a closed back for protection and a hole just enough for the clip.

This $340 iPhone/iPod dock by Sony is not a cup holder, that thing that looks like a mug is actually a 360 degree speaker. The SRS-V500IP is designed to sit on your cars cup holder and your backpack’s water holder. Also dubbed as the “Circle Sound Stage” the thermos tumbler looking speaker is available in pink, orange, and black. Compatible with the iPhone, and the iPods, it can also work with the iPad and the shuffle using a headphone jack.

Available at AudioCubes. The Sony SRS-V500IP somehow resemble like a men’s toy, if you know what i mean.
