Cool Uses For iPhone’s Camera

May 7th, 2009 by Glitch

Having a 2 megapixel camera, iPhone seems not that much when it comes to taking photos, but, add some Web access, a pocket-size Mac, and third-party apps to the mix and voila!! You have a good camera to take photos and be creative with.

See in the Dark

For handheld shots, an app such as River Past’s $1 Night Camera can increase your chances of getting a steady shot. The program uses the iPhone’s accelerometer to determine when the camera is still enough to take the shot. It also lets you turn the entire screen into a shutter button-so you have an easier target-and lets you set a timer so you can prop up the iPhone and get in the shot yourself. iPhone’s anti-Theft Precautions

May 6th, 2009 by Glitch

iPhone costs around a couple of hundred bucks, that is why it really is the “apple of the eye” to thieves and phone snatchers. So here is a brief Theft Safety Precautions in case your iPhones got stolen:

1. Turn On Passcode Lock
Sure, this is an amateur tip – but let’s face the facts. Most people out there do not implement a passcode lock on their iPhones. And they should. While it won’t prevent anyone from snatching your phone, it’ll keep your private information private. Here’s how you do it.

2. Auto-Lock
Your iPhone has an auto-lock option, which (obviously) automatically locks your phone after a chosen period of time, and requires the previously mentioned 4 digit passcode to unlock it. It would be best to have the auto-lock set on either one or two minutes to ensure that the amount of time your iphone spends unlocked is minimized. Read the rest of this Apple story »

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285 for MAC

May 3rd, 2009 by Glitch

geforcegtx285macedition

This is the New Video card made by NVIDIA, the GeForce GTX 285 for Mac which is rumored to be released on June.

The company does say that, unlike some cards converted for the Mac, the GTX 285 will have the same performance as its Windows counterpart. In its existing form, it’s NVIDIA’s fastest single-processor graphics chipset and has a whopping 240 visual effects cores that let it process more tasks at once. By comparison, the GeForce GT 120 that comes standard with the Mac Pro has just 32 cores, and even the $1,800 Quadro FX 4800 has just 192. It also has 1GB of video memory and supports all of NVIDIA’s general-purpose processing features, including CUDA and (eventually) OpenCL.[appleinsider]
