FCC Filings Reveals Hidden iPad Details
Apple recently disclosed several details regarding the iPad however an FCC filing reveals more information not mentioned by Apple nor shown on Apple’s official iPad page.
First, both (wifi and wifi+3g) models of the iPad seems to have two wi-fi antenna each. But why? One of the two antennas is shared with bluetooth but each of them cannot transmit at the same time. Placed on an opposite location and powered by in different levels, it looks like the iPad is designed to switch antennas for optimum range and power efficiency.

iPad Details and Last Minute Changes, Sorry No Font Facing Camera
While rumors of iPad frames with camera holes made us expect front end camera added to the iPad upon the official release. Sorry to break your heart, Apple did several changes but it does not include front facing camera nor expose via the iPad keyboard.
However Apple changed a couple of physical controls on the iPad which includes:
- The iPad mute switch was changed to a ’screen rotation lock’ button.

- The iPad Keyboard which was expected to have expose key’s for small apps or widget wasn’t there but Apple changed the positioning of the functions keys to F1 home, F2/F3 brightness, F4 photo frame, F5 keyboard, F6 blank, F7-F9 music playback, F10-F12 volume, F13 spotlight, and F14 lock. Apple Updates Safari to Version 4.05
There goes again the bouncing ’software update’ icon, and this time it reminds me that Safari 4.05 is out. So what’s this software update is all about?
The update improves Safari’s Top Sites performance, better stability for 3rd party pug-ins, improved support for websites with online forms and scalable vector graphics, fixes issues on Safari’s interaction with Linksys firmware and lastly it provides fix to issues oreventing iWork.com users from commenting on document.

The online apple store is down and with this are expectations of “New Stuff“. Of-course we know that they’ll be updating the online store to have options for iPad pre-order. There’s also rumors of Hexacore Core i7 Mac Pros and New Mac Book Pros with Nvidia’s Optimus Technology.
While others might be itching to hit the iPad “pre-order” button, I would love to see New MacBook Pros..
