Buying a Mac?, Read these Advice..
So you earned enough dough to get yourself a new Mac and drooling over the new iPhone 3GS, either you’re a switcher or an experienced Mac user who just need a cure-for-the-itch. Accomplished Mac users would say they already know what I’m talking about…
First step is to search the internet about “buying a mac” and pray that the gooogle gods feed you with the things you should know before buying a mac, you can also search for Macintosh User Groups (MUGs) you’ll be surprised how cheap owned units are. I suggest that you should first register then use the search function before posting what you want to say, the Mac community (Muggers) are polite enough to make you feel comfortable.
Before you swipe your credit card or empty out your wallet, here’s some sites with a lot of info that could enlighten you on buying a mac computer may it be laptop (macbooks) or desktop (imac).
MacRumors have a comprehensive time-ordered buyers guide. You can find historical data about Apple product release, iPods, iMac, iPhones they have the complete line-up and the best thing about this guide is it indicate which product is the best buy the moment you’re reading it.
MacWorld have an article entitled “The new rules for buying Mac“, written a year ago but still very useful.
My take is if you want to future-proof your investment then go for the newest release on the other hand if you’re the one who want Macs for less, I suggest to get the one that suits your needs. If you look online, on ebay you’ll find some good stuff too. Also you can use your sisters, of friend who is still in school to avail of the education promo.
And after your purchase, Don’t forget to take some photos and show me some pictures of your shiny new object-of-desire.
