I have a iphone 3GS, ano po kaya possible na sira nito, when i do surfing for 10minutes, nag-o-off sya eventhough fully charge, minsan sa call ganun din siya? saan po kaya pwede ko siya i-send for repair sa singapore kasi siya nabili.

    • Edu Mansanas 18 April 2012 at 11:47 am #

It’s possible that it needs a battery replacement. There are some stores in Green Hills that can do this for you. Try to scout at the tons of repair shops near shoppesville.

My iphone 4 accidentally fell from our rooftop. It is still working as I still heard text tone and its still alarming. But the LCD was totally broken. Where I could possibly send my iphone to fix it?

    • Edu Mansanas 18 April 2012 at 11:54 am #

Bring it to an Apple Authorized Service center near you, you can check out the list above. LCD replacement will cost you 2500 pesos, including labor.

Good day po. My iPad 2 64GB 3G Wifi White was bought in the US May 2011. Mag eexpire po anb warranty on May 4th, 2012. My problem with the iPad is that the mic stopped functioning completely. I use FaceTime to communicate with my husband in the US so i need my iPad. I tried everything, from resetting (and i lost a lot of data including my playlists in iTunes, my notes, my videos despite the notification that said “will not lose data” beforei pressed the reset button), i tried restoring, hard reset (when u press the power button and home button simultaneously), i even tried putting on an earpiece with a mic since iba naman yung mic sa earpiece from the mic sa ipad, i tried blowing on the mic cuz i read na it accumulates dust, i downloaded iRecorder and other recording apps to test the mic but all i record is total silence, i also tried Tango but my husband cant hear me pa din. So yes, i tried everything but nothing seems to work.

Also recently, my speakers are starting to act up. One minute okay yun volume then the next, i cant even hear my notifications na.

My concern is, i know na covered pa ang ipad ko sa warranty but the question is, is it valid here in PI even if it was bought in the US? I read sa apple discussion site kasi that one guy had the same problems as mine but the people from the Apple Store asked him for money for the replacement iPad that they issued to him even if under warranty pa yun iPad niya. Can they even do that? In the US, when they cant find a solution sa problem sa iDevice mo, they replace it kaagad. Please help!

Also, i have to travel pa to go to the nearest Apple Store. So its really hassle for me. And my iPad is my only meansmof communication with my husband for now. Any advice will be of great help. Thank you and more power to you!

    • Edu Mansanas 18 April 2012 at 11:59 am #

The warranty should be valid, since iPad 2 wifi+3G is widely available in the here in the Philippines. Try to call Digital Hub, I find their tech team very accommodating.

ask ko lang pwede bang palitan ko iyong ipad 2 wifi ko ng ipad 2 wifi +3g na under 1 year warranty p ren? kasi same prize n ata sila eh..pls reply

    • Edu Mansanas 18 April 2012 at 12:03 pm #

Sorry to disappoint you but that’s not possible. You can try to sell your iPad 2 wifi on ebay, or sulit.ph, then use the proceeds to buy a 3G capable iPad 2. Also, try Philmug.ph and post a “FT (for trade)” thread.

hi edu, i want to ask how my iphone4 be repaired?

I upgraded its version, and I cannot use it as a phone anymore.

Is there someone who could repair it? when I brought it at ROB Manila, they told me that i shouldnt have upgraded it to IOS 5.1, since there is no solution yet for that matter even a gevey sim since its for iphone 4s only. please help!

    • Edu Mansanas 18 April 2012 at 12:05 pm #

Try to look for Gevey ULTRA S or R-SIM 3. They should unlock your iPhone 4.

I got my iphone 4s’ glass cracked. Can they help me with this?

    • Edu Mansanas 27 March 2012 at 1:34 pm #

Yes, you can ask their the technician nicely, as they are not really authorized to repair iPhones. You can find repair shops in greenhills, but proceed with caution.
The price of the front glass assembly is $100 so expect to pay 4-6 thousand pesos plus labor.

      • ratchellereyes 29 March 2012 at 4:28 pm #

Hi sir! I have the same dilemma, i dropped my phone accidentally while im sleeping. i placed it beside me because i just started charging it and i was about to sleep for the night. nxt day, found out that the back glass was shattered. good thing it still works and the front lcd is perfectly fine. my dad bought it last sept 2011. it’ll be 7mos this apr.

now, i want to know my options before i turn to my dad because he’ll be very upset if he knew.

he bought it in Greenhills, power mac i guess? my tito said they bought it from the apple store directly.

        my questions are:
would the warranty cover the damage and replace the glass for free? ive read forums from apple that there’s alot of circumstances like these and their store provided the replacement for free since this is a common problem with iphone 4/s

second, do you know a store in GH which is good with ths kind of problems? If ever the warranty cannot cover it. I might as well seek help inside V mall. but i dont know what store to trust there that would offer me reasonbale price and good quality replacement parts.

i want to ready my solutions A and B so that ill be ready whenever i face my dad.

        URGENT. PLS DO REPLY. THANKYOUUU!

Damage due to negligence is not covered by the original apple warranty. Since your iPhone is still under warranty I would suggest you to bring it to Digital Hub Green Hills rather to an unauthorized service provider at VMall. These stalls in greenhills gives only 3 months warranty at most, while certified apple repair center, although costs more, will give you up to a year.

i have been using my iPod classic for four years now and just the other day when i was trying to update, for the first time it got corrupted (sabi ng iTunes ko!)i haven’t added songs in 3mos but i have been hooking it up to my laptop whenever i don’t have my charger.i had it restored thinking it would help but after all what happens is it does not sync anymore and while its hooked up,iTunes hangs and cant read/find my iPod..now i wanna know, how much would it cost me if i had this repaired or check.i still really wanna keep using this because it has a very high sentimental value to me.thanks. :D

    • Edu Mansanas 21 March 2012 at 1:31 pm #

I think your iPod’s hard drive failed… try to bring it to one of the authorized service center listed above… the replacement cost depends on the availability of the hard drive compatible for your iPod.

My ipad just hanged while I am using it. My proof of purchase was lost. Can I still avail of my service warranty?

    • Edu Mansanas 21 March 2012 at 1:33 pm #

as long as the iPad is registered on Apple’s website, you don’t need the proof of purchase. Just bring your iPad to service center and they will check the warranty of your device.

  24. ROGER 13 March 2012 at 6:12 pm #

I lost my proof of purchase. Will I still be covered of my warranty?

May I ask if you have any idea what may happened to my Ipad 2? My Ipad 2 suddenly don’t have power though I charged it a while ago and my son played it for a short while. After a few hours of not playing, it suddenly don’t have the power. Can you predict first what’s wrong with it? It wasn’t dropped nor it was cracked. Thank you.

i have an ipad2 which was a gift to me from my partner..it was purchased in the UK i think last july or august coz i received it last august 2011 which means it is still under the 1year warranty..
im now here in the philippines and i wonder if i can use the warranty here.. coz accidentally its front glass cover is broken.. it accidentally slipped out of my hand dropped down to the floor from about a knee high… need on this please… coz for sure glass replacement will be a lot expensive.. and if its possible i would like to take advantage of its warranty…

    • Edu Mansanas 2 March 2012 at 6:31 pm #

If you’re device is under 1 year of purchase, it must be covered with Apple warranty anywhere in the world. You can check out this link to check the coverage of your iPad 2.

Although your device might be covered, damage due to accident or neglect are not covered. It’s likely that Apple will repair your device, but you’ll have to pay for the new front glass digitizer (currently sells for $80). Which is great since you get the pros at Apple to do it rather than risking repair with unauthorized repair centers.

    • Edu Mansanas 2 March 2012 at 6:11 pm #

Can you tell us what’s the name of the store and location, so other readers can avoid them…
If your iPod Touch retains its serial number, it’s likely that it gets a Frankenpod treadment. It’s possible to built a new iPod from after market parts.

Hi I’m planning to buy iphone 4s… yung nagbebenta sakin sabi nya with 1 year international warranty daw… sabi din nya pwede daw iparepair apple dto yun pag nasira is this true?

    • Edu Mansanas 17 February 2012 at 9:48 pm #

since Apple only sells iPhone 4S through Globe or Smart only units bought from theses telecoms are covered with Apple warranty others are considered grey market units and should be repaired or serviced in the country where they’re originally bought.

got this old iPhone 8GB from a relative in states, can’t turn the power on. I tried to charge it but still doesn’t work. is it a power or battery prob? i had it checked by a repair shop and they said they have to reformat the device first.

  40. Edu Mansanas 24 January 2012 at 11:03 am #

Since it’s a US carrier locked iPhone, I believe you need to bring it to the States to claim the warranty. You may need to restore it to factory settings though. Also, Digital Hub repairs all Apple products excepts iPhones since they are not authorized to sell one either. If you can’t go to US right away, you can try iFix (Greenhills), they have great feedback. Battery replacement costs Php1200.00.

Try this this contact number 09486039652 / 7222217 (decode) or 09399197300 (sugar). I think they’re from different store.

  41. Louie 23 January 2012 at 8:22 am #

Sir, I have a query. My Iphone 3gs which was bought in the States last July was locked with AT&T. Since I cannot use it with a globe sim card, I was forced to jailbreak it and had it carrier unlocked. It’s been working fine until 2 nights ago it suddenly restarted all by itself. I thought it was a one time occurrence until it rebooted every 5 minutes or so. I then restored it via DFU mode and unlocked it again. It didn’t reboot every 5 mins or so but it restarted randomnly whenever I use the 3g internet or the wifi, I checked for solutions online and they said that it maybe the battery. Do you think apple still covers the warranty? Would they replace my battery or at least try to repair it? If not, how much do you think digitalhub would charge?

    • Edu Mansanas 24 January 2012 at 11:15 am #

Authorized Apple repair center fixes all Apple products except for the iPhones. Since your iPhone 3gs is bought in the US and locked with AT&T, you have to bring it to the states provided that the unit is still covered with 1 year warranty. If not, your best option is to bring it to Green Hills, San Juan.

      Try to contact DeCode(09486039652 / 7222217) or Sugar (09399197300. I believe 3GS battery replacement costs Php1200.00.

    • Edu Mansanas 21 January 2012 at 11:25 am #

Yes.. I have a friend who is using an Apple Peel for her 4th Gen. iPod Touch
It is safe as you’re able to jailbreak your device.
One thing though.. The phone interface looks like a China Phone.

    • Edu Mansanas 17 January 2012 at 3:20 pm #

Try different angles when pushing the eject hole. It appears that this is a common problem. Apple published an article on how to properly eject sim cards on iPad2.
Having to use a drill will be the worst case scenario. Check out this post on iPhone Dev Forum.

    EDU, ITS WIFI, SORRY

    • Edu Mansanas 12 January 2012 at 4:06 am #

      Nawala wi-fi, is it:

      1. Cant connect to a wi-fi network? – check your router settings, or “restore” your iPad 2 via iTunes.
      2. WiFi enable button is greyed or disabled? – restore your iPad, if problem persists chances are your Wi-Fi radio is busted. You may need the pros to repair your iPad 2.
