I just updated the Itunes on my comp. & after that it sort of erased all the contents of my IPAD.. what should I do.. Help pls. Many Thanks

    • Edu Mansanas 6 October 2012 at 5:56 am #

You need to load your old library (press atl while you start iTunes) and restore your iPad, then load a backup after the restore. iTunes usually save a backup of your iPad every time you sync via USB.

Hi, my iphone4 turned into a blank screen I already tried restatring it (home + sleep button) but it doesnt fix the issue, tried recharging it too but it just made my phone hot, which i dont think is normal. what should i do? thank you

    • Edu Mansanas 6 October 2012 at 5:52 am #

I’m afraid that your iPhone’s battery is busted.. If under warranty bring it to Globe or Smart.. otherwise go to greenhills shopping mall in San Juan..

      • iska 8 October 2012 at 4:10 pm #

Thank you sir, do you have any personal recommendation for a specific shop in greenhills? and how much would it cost me for repair? I do appreciate your assistance

        • Edu Mansanas 9 October 2012 at 1:16 am #

I can’t recommend a specific shop. But you can look around at Virra Mall and Shoppesville. Choose the ones that have a boutique as they are more reliable.

For prices you can check out this post.

          • iska 9 October 2012 at 11:26 am #

But surely it’s a battery issue and needs replacement right??

I deeply appreciate your help sir. I’m glad there’s still someone like you out there, helping others..you’re the “good samaritan” of our time ;) !!MORE POWER!!

          • iska 9 October 2012 at 12:45 pm #

and just a follow up question..is an external battery an option instead of having it repaired? Thanks alot!

          • Edu Mansanas 9 October 2012 at 8:34 pm #

I think it’s not possible… the external battery only charges the internal battery… If your device stays on when connected to a power supply but shuts down when you disconnect the plug, then I think using an external battery will work.. Make sure to test the external battery first.. then let us know.. :-)

          • iska 10 October 2012 at 8:00 am #

I think i would go with the first option, having it repaired. I thought an external battery works just as the internal one. But if it only charges the internal batt, I’m afriad that it might fry the internal and might cause a bigger problem. Well, that is just a theory, but I’m not kind of a risk taker. I think you should start considering having your own shop.. :)

Hi po. Got my iphone 4s from a friend (from Australia). For four months of use it was perfectly working fine but suddenly one morning, its built in speaker stopped working. When i plugged in the earpiece, okay meron lahat. pag tinanggal walang sound. So walang ringtone basta po lahat walang sound na lumalabas sa built-in speaker. Sinubukan ko na halos lahat, nilinis ko ang earpiece jack, pati ung dock connector. Ni restore ko na rin more than twice sa version 5.1. I even tried restoring to version IOS 6. pero ganun pa rin. Saan ko po pwedeng i pa repair ito dito sa Pinas. at kung makitang hardware defective po, may chance kaya for a unit replacement?. Ang warranty po ay up to June 2013.
    Thanks po ng marami.

Your LCD could be busted. If you bought it from Smart or Globe then you can send it to them for repairs. You will have to pay for the new LCD though.

meron po ba kayo alam na nag open line ng iphone 4 … 5.1.1 version at baseband 04.12.01…. japan carrier softbank… patulong naman

    • Edu Mansanas 1 October 2012 at 7:23 pm #

You need to downgrade the based band, then use redsnow with activation tickets. The process is pretty simple, there’s a visual guide on youtube. Try to go to Virra Mall green hills.

my ipad was bought 2 weeks ago and it becomes too hot (sort of overheating) when i leave it open. What will i do? Please, i need your help…

    • Edu Mansanas 1 October 2012 at 7:13 pm #

Heating iPad is normal. If the heat feels too much, try to close all apps. See if that fixes it. Make sure to keep all your apps updated.

Hi. I have an iPad 3 which I bought about 3 mos ago. It appeared to be ok while I was using it but a few days ago I suddenly noticed a tiny speck of dirt in the screen. It’s not a dead pixel because it has a shadow. I know it wasn’t there when I bought it because we checked the whole screen when I bought a screen protector. How did it get in? It still has its warranty but is it repairable? Thanks.

    • Edu Mansanas 1 October 2012 at 7:10 pm #

It must be a manufacturing defect. It it’s distracting, I think Apple should replace your iPad or at least remove it for you. Try to call the nearest Apple service provider.

  17. Rowe 25 September 2012 at 3:39 am #

Sir, my iphone’s battery was drained and when I connected it for charging a message appeared that the OS needs to be updated. when my iphone 3gs had its OS updated to iOS6, there was a message which says that I have to insert a SIM card that came with the phone or visit a supported carrier for a replacement sim. I got a replacement sim but it still does not open. BTW, the phone is openline as it came from London where my brother lives.

    • Edu Mansanas 25 September 2012 at 5:40 pm #

a new sim needs some time to be active OR your iPhone is NOT open line.. it should easily be unlocked. try to search google for “hacktivate unlock iOS 6 iPhone 3GS”

  18. ralph 20 September 2012 at 6:40 pm #

    • Edu Mansanas 21 September 2012 at 2:24 pm #

Did you bought it brand new from an authorised reseller? You can bring it to any service center with the receipt and they will contact apple.

  26. arthurglen 24 August 2012 at 5:21 am #

    Hi Edu,

I bought a second-hand iphone 3G. It was supposed to be just okay even its kinda slow and all, but the wifi seems defective. I guess that’s why it was sold. It’s not greyed out, I can still toggle it on, its just not catching any signal at all. Is there a remedy to this? Data connection is still okay though.

is it jailbroken? try to restore using iTunes.

  27. chance 20 August 2012 at 1:31 pm #

    hello po,
my ipad3 was jailbroken.. but i did not like it to be jailbroken since my brother have sent it with his friend to be jailbroken..is there a possibility to unjailbreak it?thanks
what are the most common mishaps of having jailbroken ipads..thanks

    • Edu Mansanas 23 August 2012 at 1:28 am #

You can unjailbreak your iPhone by doing a restore using iTunes. Just connect it to your computer run the lasted version of iTunes.

I used I jailbreak my phone but not anymore since I’m happy the way it is. I don’t need jailbreak apps. I learned to buy apps on the AppStore.

The most useful jailbreak apps are not free anymore.

my wifi in my iphone 4s cannot connect neither can it search for available wifi. ive tried to restore it but still the wifi doesnt work. how can it be fixed?

    • direknerak 23 August 2012 at 12:09 am #

having the same problem. apparently, the apple stores here in the Philippines cannot do something about it because they are not responsible for iphones. only smart and globe can do that. smart doesn’t want to replace my iphone because they said that they only can serviced the phone, they do not replaced it because I bought my iphone from sg. so, I asked them, what is the meaning of apple’s international warranty when they (smart) cannot and will not replaced the phone?! apple gave this responsibility to smart and yet, they do not want to do it. i am still fighting for my right because I feel that I am discriminated.

      • Edu Mansanas 23 August 2012 at 1:24 am #

I believe you have to call the toll free Apple Philippines support directly. When asked, choose iPod support te answering machine doesn’t have option for iPhone.

If your unit is under 1 year warranty but the phone support is over they will still give you a 1 time phone support.

You can also buy an apple care for your phone. They will cover the shipping cost in case your iPhone needs replacement.

        Good luck.

I dropped my ipod and the screen was broken. How much is the cost of replacement and repair? It is still functioning. Kindly give me an estimated cost I could prepare the money needed. I was able to browse the enternet and the cost stated was 800. Is it still applicable?

Another inquiry is – we just bought the unit in manila this year, I think there is still a warranty. Ok lang ba ipa open in Davao service Center? Kailangan ko po kasi agad.

    gud pm po maam/sir

mag ask lng ako if me available kayo na bottom case, ung rubber po ba? ung mac pro (13 inch) ko kac natanggal n ung bottom cover nya, gusto ko sana palitan. if meron kayong stock, magkano naman po? at pati ung shipping fees, nasa iligan city pa po kac ako.

    thanks po

    • Edu Mansanas 26 July 2012 at 12:41 am #

I would suggest that you go to an Apple Store near you. Some tech may have spare buttom rubber feet for your Mac.

You can also improvise using rubber materials or eraser. You can also look for rubber feet/cushions on Ace Hardware or Handyman.

They said they DO NOT support the service for IPHONES. Sh***t. Is this true?

    • 17 1 August 2012 at 3:04 am #

oo…nakakainis na yan..ano pang silbi ng international warranty?!

      • Edu Mansanas 1 August 2012 at 3:52 am #

International warranty works on Macs, iPods and non cellular iPads. If you bought a black market iPhone or iPad chances are you need to ship the item to the country of origin. If you buy an Apple Care, Apple will cover the shipping cost.

Claiming warranty should be no problem provided that your device is not water-damaged, and not damaged due to negligence.. I claimed warranty in the past for my PowerMac G5 and iMac, so far so good. The sad thing is that my iMac was waterdamaged during typhoon ondoy, it voided the 2 year Apple Care.

  43. Ipod Classic 160 GB 19 May 2012 at 10:25 am #

Everytime na iCharge ko Po Yung Ipod Ko sa Laptop, laging naka stuck sa screen “Charging, Please Wait…” Naka- Charge Na Po Sya For 3 Days,But Still The Same.

I Tried Plugging It With Portable Charger/Wall Charger (Apple Product), Yung Battery Symbol Ay May Lightning Na Symbol (Meaning Its Charging Right?) And I Can Listen/View Photos/Watch Movies While It Is Plugged In. And Its Been Charging For 2 Days Na, Still Hindi Pa Sya Na fFull Charge. Normally It Will Take Only 2-4hrs To be Fully Charged Kahit 0% Or 10% Nalang Yung Natitira Sa Battery.

And When I Unplugged It From My Laptop Or From The Wall Outlet, Black Screen Lang Po Sya (As In OFF/SHUT DOWN), I Already Tried On Resetting It(Holding Menu+Center/Menu+Play&Pause) For 30 Seconds, And Its Not Resetting/Restarting.

Please I Need Help. I Have 700,000+ Music On My Ipod And I Don’t Have Any Back Up Files Since Apple Don’t Allow An Ipod To PC File Transfer Unless We Purchase A Proper Software Or I Have The Right Apple Products.

Right Now I’m Charging My Ipod With My Laptop.

    • Edu Mansanas 19 May 2012 at 5:08 pm #

You might need the battery replaced.

      • Ipod Classic 160 GB 20 May 2012 at 12:41 am #

About Po Sa Battery Replacement,San Po Maaaring Makabili Nun? Available Po Ba Yun Sa Mga Apple Service Center Dito Sa Philippines? Kapag Din Po Ba Nag Pa Replace Ng Battery Ma-aapektuhan Po Ba Yung Mga Files Sa Ipod? Just Want To Make Sure Po Na Hindi Mawala Yung Mga Music Files.

Pwede Ko Din Po Ba Malaman Yung Estimated Cost(Yung Magagastos) Para Po Sa Transactions/Service.

        • Edu Mansanas 7 June 2012 at 9:10 pm #

Yes, Apple Service Centers should be able to replace your iPod’s battery. Price will depends on your iPod model and the availability of the battery. Try to call any of the centers listed above.

        • Edu Mansanas 20 April 2012 at 1:26 pm #

could be the audio IC or the headphone port. Ask a pro to repair it for you, the headset jack will cost you about 1000 pesos to replace.
