Brando’s Power Station iPhone Charger

Last time we made a post about iPhone accessories to extend the battery life of your iPhone, this time I found a review that Gizmodo made about a Power Station iPhone Charger from Brando. Definitely the cheapest among the battery packs that we have mentioned eariler, now let us see if it can beat other battery packs in terms of performance.

The Gadget:

The Power Station is a portable battery pack for your iPhone that slides easily into your dock connection for charging away from a socket or a USB connection.

Features:

Test button for checking the power station’s current capacity
Animated LED indicator when charging is in progress
Capacity: 1000mAh
Input: 5V/500mA
Output: 5V/400mA (max)

The Verdict:

Gizmodo said that it works as advertised. Great for emergency days when you’re low on power from a frantic 3G browsing session earlier that morning.

The Price: $25

The only complaint that may arise is that unlike other chargers that wrap around the iPhone to secure itself in place, the Power Station only connects via the dock. This results in a flimsy connection that might snap off if you’re not careful. And at a price of $25, it’s the cheapest among the iPhone battery pack that we’ve posted. Despite its drawbacks (only charges about half the phone’s battery and is sort of flimsy when connected), I can still recommend it as a backup battery for emergencies. Definitely having one may caom in handy when the need arises.
