A new Flickr iPhone Application developed by Yahoo has just been introduced to promote the the photo-sharing social-networking site. Although there are already tons of Applications to use flickr, this one provides a simple, effective and free alternative.
With Yahoo’s official Flickr App you can shoot, upload and share photos and videos. You can geotag photos or add them to a flickr set, it also enable you to view photo’s by set and tag. This iPhone app let’s you do your common flickr task like viewing photos by contact, create comments or marking photos as favorites and searching photos by subject people or places.
The Flickr iPhone Application is Rated 12+ (teens only) due to Infrequent or Mild Cartoon or Fantasy Violence, Alcohol Tobacco, Drug use or Referrence, Realistic Violence, Mature or Suggestive themes, horror themes, sexual contnt or nudity and profanity or crude humor content.
Although Official App made by Yahoo is clean, simple and well designed some users experienced application slow down when using the application longer and some review it as inefficient. Check out the list below taken from iTunes storeĀ user reviews.
Here’s a list of negative feedback (Cons)
- The Application often crash
- Safari must be activated to use the app (sounds wierd)
- Cant batch upload photos
- Sluggish performace, startup takes 6-8 seconds (could be internet connection problem)
- Strips off GPS data upon uploading
- Uploaded photos don’t show photo properties
- No groups
- Long Comments are cut off
- No way to upload photos in full resolution
- No HELP file
Positive user feedback
