iTunes 9 Reviews, Pros and Cons

Hooray! iTunes 9 is up and ready for download. If you’re on a Mac, software update must have notified you already. If you have already downloaded and isntalled iTunes 9, the first thing that you’ll notice is it’s new design. Although the design is not relatively different from iTunes 8, when you look closer you’ll notice that it’s now a bit cleaner and the color gradient is a bit lighter, buttons looks more like buttons and glassy areas have more dept, this makes it look a bit realistic. You’ll notice more changes when you use it more often.

iTunes 9 is now a hot item amongst it’s critics and users, and as time pass more and more people write reviews about the new version of iTunes. According to Download Squad

There’s plenty to like about iTunes 9. It’s got a number of nice (albeit overdue) touches that significantly improve the media-browsing and syncing of the ordinary person. The new UI elements will take some getting used to – as will navigating the iTunes Store – however these minor quips don’t detract from the fact that this is a slick and useful update.

You can read their full review here. While Download squad obviously is satisfied with the changes in iTunes 9, the Guys at Tehchradar have a mixed feeling about it, they say that you’ll experience sluggish performance when using external drives (not for me though, i think it’s faster).  Albeit the praises there are still negative feedback about the newly updated iTunes.

Here’s a quote from techradar

iTunes 9 feels snappier, the column browser is a much-needed improvement and the Home Sharing feature works very well, although on our Mac at least iTunes 9 doesn’t seem any less crash-prone than its predecessor.

Nevertheless, the vastly improved device management makes this a worthwhile upgrade.

MacNN says they need to use iTunes 9 more to settle an opinion but as of the moment they are satisfied.

Those most likely to appreciate the upgrade are those with one of Apple’s touchscreen players or who consider the iTunes Store their primary source of music. Without these, a lot of the changes are more incremental, but it’s increasingly hard to find someone who won’t be touched by these changes. And if it does, version 9 is a true necessity.

As for me, I will not repeat what these reviewers review for my opinion is the same as what they have. And Indeed it’s too early to bash iTunes, perhaps we should wait a few weeks to see more rants and faves. As for me I’m now looking forward to iTunes 10, that will hopefully feature DVD and Bluray playback as-well as the ability to rip them off the disc. But then again it’s too early to assume then next iTunes 10 features.
