Turn your iPhone into a Macro Camera
Some of you may already be content with your iPhone’s camera output but some can’t seem to find satisfaction in the iPhone’s camera that he had to take the camera out and modify it to fit his needs.
So forget about buying those add-ons for your cameras and modify it yourself (that is if voiding the warranty is ok with you), just like what Daniel Forsythe of Flickr did with his iPhone, he used his knowledge of cellphone cameras lenses to make this quick and dirty manual focus hack for the iPhone.
A detailed step by step procedure can be found on Daniel’s site. Please remember that disassembling your iPhone may void your warranty, AppleCare, and may not work at all or damage your phone if done improperly.
Here is also a list of the things you may need:
- iPhone (or really for that matter, a number of other similar camera phones)
- Jeweler’s philips screwdriver
- Needlenose pliers
- iPhone/Pod case cracking tool:
Official type
Black stick
Old Credit Card
Flatblade screwdriver (al though not recommended as it can damage the case)
