Sega Genesis Emulator is Destined to be a “Sega Store”
Remember the Sega Genesis Console? They were the coolest game console way back 1989. Remember Sonic the Hedge Hog, whew I was so into it that I could finish the game in two and-a-half hour straight.
Thankfully Sega will soon release a Sega Genesis Emulator or should I call it Virtial Console. It will be named Sega Ultimate Genesis and will no longer need illegally downloaded ROMS, you buy the game straight from the Emulator. Hmmn, sounds like a game store inside an App, initially it will include only one game “Space Harrier II” which is free, but you can add several games like Sonic the Hedgehog for $5.99, Golden Axe at $4.99, Ecco the Dolphin $2.99 and Shining Force $2.99. Currently you can only fill the emulator with four games but soon Sega will port more classic Genesis games to the App.
Emulators are already available for Jailbroken iPhone but this could be the first one to go legit. And since the Ultimate genesis App will sell Sega games there’s no doubt that in the future Sega will sell all its NEW titles inside the virtual console, giving Sega more flexibility since they can just port the App to work with Android, Windows Mobile or Other mobile OS and the games is already available for purchase compared to porting each game to every mobile OS (hope that makes sense).
Ultimate Genesis will be Available this February 2010.
