Another Apple Event on Oct. 14?

After Apple’s “Let’s Rock” event last Sept. 9 many are asking why there was no mention of MacBook updates on the said event. Steve said in an interview that the “Let’s Rock” event was a music focused event, but many are still anxiously awaiting updates for the MacBooks.

According to John Gruber of DaringFireball, Apple will have another event on Oct 14. According to sources “familiar with Apple’s hardware plans.” The timeframe fits into recent expectations of a more staggered release, and recent hints to resellers that notebook refreshes would have to wait until October.

The most favored to have an update must be both the MacBook and MacBook Pro, because these two are overdue for revisions. Their are already rumors floating around about an aluminum MacBook Pro.

Another Apple product that will most likely get an upgrade is the MacBook Air. Besides new versions of the MacBook Air’s custom Intel processor, Apple now has access to upgraded miniature hard drives for use in the slim laptop. The new 120GB iPod Classic shares the same single-platter hard drive form factor that is also used in the MacBook Air. The MacBook Air used to be limited to a maximum hard drive size of 80GB. Now that a new hard drive is available the MacBook Air should now be able to accommodate the higher 120GB hard drive size.

Probably the most anticipated rumor of all, according to Gizmodo, is the MacBook Touch. There are already rumors about Apple releasing an Apple tablet which, some called the MacBook Touch, in october. And Apple’s warning to stock up in current MacBooks and iPod just intensified this rumor.
