Sad News: Microsoft Currently Have “No Plans for Office on iPad”
According to a Boomberg.com post, the Redmond based company currently have no plans to create an iPad version of Office. Upon the announcement of Office 2011, Microsoft’s Mike Tedesco claims that they are “looking at” the possibility of an iPad version of Office, but a new statement by Microsoft Executive Stephen Elop suggests the opposite:
“We never say never, but we have no current plans” to develop a version of Office for the Apple iPad, Elop said. Last year Redmond, Washington-based Microsoft said it would create a version to work on Nokia Oyj’s smartphones, since millions of Office users already own those devicesĀ .
Elop said that they would take a “Wait and See” approach in designing apps for the iPad. But knowing that Apple will still have to approve the app before it shows on the iPad App Store, the Cupertino company still have the last laugh.
