While Hyundai gives away a free iPad on every purchase of the Equus, Mercedez-Benz is trying to speed up car sales by using iPads to access dealer information and begin credit application right in the showroom in front of the car.
“We wanted to bring the mobile revolution into the dealership,” Andreas Hinrichs, vice president of marketing, said in an interview. “The iPad is consumer centric but there is a business side to it as well.”
The program dealers enter the vehicle ID number of the car the shopper wants to buy and find which rebates or discounts are available using the MB Advantage Application. If successful Mercedez-Benz financial will distribute iPads to all 350 dealers in the US.
