OtterBox Announces Defender, Commuter and Impact Series iPhone 4 Cases
OtterBox – known for their tough and waterproof enclosures just introduced three line of iPhone 4 compatible protective case, the Defender, Commuter and Impact Series.
The Defender for iPhone 4 features three layers of protection which is designed to protect your iPhone from scratch, bumps, drops and dust. It allows complete control of the device and it included a ratcheting belt clip holster. Next is the Commuter, unlike the Defenter, it also offers three layers of protection but in a slim and smoother form factor. It includes a self adhering protective film and is equipped with silicone plugs to cover the ports. Last is the Impact Series, the name itself suggest that this is Otterbox’ most tough casing for the iPhone 4. It doesnt only protects it from bumps, drops, scratches and dust, the inner core also disperse shock away from the iPhone.
All Otterbox iPhone 4 cases allows access to all the necessary ports and controls,and it gives maximum protection to your iPhone 4. However, Otterbox clears out that these cases are NOT WATERPROOF, non of these iPhone 4 compatible cases can give protection against water. Looks like the company forgotten that they are known for water proof cases and didn’t even bother to create a water-proof iPhone 4 case.

A full waterproof version of this series of cases would be difficult and still work well as a phone. Honestly, almost any fully waterproof case runs the risk of reducing phone capabilities to almost nothing.
Before you bag on a company besure you have done all your research.

What’s said it that the new Defender, Commuter, and Impact series iPhone 4 cases are not full waterproof. It would have been great if Otterbox included a full waterproof iPhone 4 case in the new line.
I really wish there were cases available for the iPhone 4 upon it’s release date. My lifestyle requires the otterbox case so my phone sits aside till I can get one
