No New Products Before The Holiday Says Apple
Don’t keep your hopes up for a new line of products from Apple this holiday. Apple already released a statement smashing all hopes of an updated Macs before the holiday season. Rumors are circulating about an update for the Mac and even a new Mac Mini but it looks dim now.
“Our holiday line-up is set,” Apple spokesman Bill Evans told Macworld.
Rumors are targeting the Mac Pro, Mac Mini and iMac because they are the only major Mac products that haven’t seen updates in the past several months. The Mac Pro was last updated in January 2008. The Mac mini has gone the longest without an update, remaining unchanged since 2007. And finally the iMac line underwent a spring overhaul, adding the Penryn processors that also power Apple’s laptops, the iMac generally shares the same internal hardware as Apple’s notebooks, making it natural to believe that they might see similar upgrades.
Apple’s next major event MacWorld San Francisco is scheduled early January 2009. [MacWorld]
