Tethering Coming to iPhone Soon
AT&T has confirmed that laptop tethering is coming to the iPhones. AT&T Mobility President and CEO Ralph De La Vega just told interviewer Michael Arrington that the company is working with Apple to let the iPhone serve as a tethered wireless modem for laptops soon. And he says it’ll be available “soon.”
There have been rumors before about AT&T and Apple talking abouth tethering plan for the iPhone.
There was also at least two existing tethering options for the iPhone: NetShare and iModem. The former was removed from Apple’s iPhone App Store and the latter only works on jailbroken iPhones which both violate AT&T’s terms of service.
Even if AT&T charges more for the tethering plan, I’m sure that more people will sign up for this, even if the connection on the iPhone is slower, Let’s just hope that AT&T and Apple will do something about the iPhone’s sluggish connection [Technologizer via Gizmodo]
