Apple Makes iOS 4.2 and Apple TV 4.1 Firmware Ready for Public Download (IPSW Links)
Finally, after several GM revisions, iOS 4.2 is out for public use. The update includes printing of mail, photos, and webpage to AirPrint compatible network printers, wireless audio, photo, and video streaming to Apple TV or AirPlay compatible devices. Improvements with FaceTime includes starting a call from SMS conversation or via Voice Control, and the ability to use bluetooth accessories for FaceTime calling.
Other features new with this iOS release includes, finding text on web page with Safari, new font setting for Notes, new SMS/MMS tones, custom MMS/SMS tones per contact, additional parental control restrictions, the ability to import .ics files into Calendaw and several bug fixes. iOS4.2 is available via iTunes or you can download the specific ISPW file for your iOS device via the link listed below:

To update your Apple TV, simply goto general setting menu and choose “software update”. The update took me about an hour.
