Rumor: iPhone 5 to ditch glass back
According to a Chinese source, Apple will be ditching glass panel on the iPhone 5 in favor of all aluminum back. The antenna design will be totally different and Apple will hide the it under the Apple logo to eliminate the “death-grip” signal problem. Using aluminum instead of glass will make the iPhone 5 more resistant to scratches and bumps, the site also claims that the new design will make way for a white iPhone. A mock up posted on Macotakara Japan shows that it will look like the current generation iPod Touch.
If this is true, this will be the second time Apple will revert back to a previous design, the first was when the company redesigned the 4th Generation Shuffle to look like the second gens. I think reverting back to an old design is not a good idea, they should find other ways to eliminate the death grip. What do you think? Do you want the iPhone 5 to look like an iPod Touch?
Also, the same source claims that the iPhone 5 will have an A5 processor, the same CPU as the upcoming iPad 2. Earlier rumors suggests that it will also feature 4G (LTE) and 3G connectivity.
