iPad 2 is Officially Available in the Philippines (Plus Special Promos) [updated]
Apple’s 2nd Generation iPad have been available in the Philippines black market via Greenhills, Applewerkz, Philmug.ph, and Pinoy Couriers travelling all over the world. Often, prices are steep, and these iPad 2s are not covered with Apple Care, unless registered with an extended Apple Care Protection Plan (APP). Today is the perfect day to get an iPad 2, not only that you can get it at a legitimate Apple reseller, one distributor is giving away special promos to add in more excitement.
Yesterday, Inquirer - a local newspaper, announced that it will be giving away free 30 day in-app subscription to Philippine Daily Inquirer App with every iPad 2s bought at Digital Hub (a local Apple distributor) from April 29 to end of July. Sound great! But I’m not a news paper reader. Well, here’s another perk: If you’re one of the first 10 customers in line to buy an iPad 2, the same distributor will be giving away free loot bags. Hopefully, they put in something worth it, perhaps a free Smart Cover, or several iTunes gift card, not knowing what’s inside the bag makes it really exciting. Aspiring iPad 2 owners can buy the 16gb, 32 gb, and 64 gb Wi-Fi only units for Php 24,900, Php 29,990, and Php 33,990 respectively, while the 3G/GSM models will be sold at Php 30,990 – 16gb, Php 35,990 – 32 gb, and Php 40,990 – 64gb. iPad 2 accessories are also available, leather Smart Covers sells at Php 3,990, while the polyurethane version is a bit cheaper at Php 2,290. Apple’s Digital AV Adapter will also be available, and priced at Php 1,890.
The iPad 2 will be released nationwide, and provicial buyers can get them at PowerHub Chimes Mall (Davao), iStore Ayala (Cebu), iStore SM Cebu, iStore SM Bacolod, iStore SM Dumaguete, and iStore SM Bacolod. Both the black and white iPad 2 are now available at Apple Online Store Philippines. With the price tag similar to its resellers, orders ships within 1 to 2 weeks.
