Facebook 3.5 gains major improvements, still no fine tuned privacy settings
Facebook for the iPhone – the only iOS app that i tend to use almost every day is updated to version 3.5. The new version brings major improvement to the biggest social network’s iOS app such as, the ability to tag Friends and Places in a Post, sharing privacy settings now matches your settings on the web version, and ability to update status, photo and check in directly right from the profile page. This update also fixed numerous bugs including disappearing notification bar, and various chat and photo errors.
I’ve been trying the new version for several hours now. The app is tad faster, and feels more stable than the previous version. However, although they made the privacy settings similar to what you have set on the web version, Facebook for iOS still doesn’t allow you to fine tune your post audience. When posting, you can only choose to make it visible to a specific group, compared to the web version which allows you to choose specific people that will be able to see it, as well as hide it from specified person. Perhaps
version 3.6 will bring up that functionality. Also, I find redundancy on several functions, when posting a status update using the, there’s an icon that will allow you to insert photo or video similar to the “Photos” button in Feeds.
Facebook 3.5 for iOS is available free at the App Store.
