Samsung makes the Best Notebook Computer EVER! – Siri
Reports has it that Siri – The built-in personal assistant in iPhone 4S just named Nokia Lumia 900 as the “Best Smartphone Ever”. Indeed, as of the moment when you ask the same question, it’s still the Lumia 900, but if you remove the word “ever” it will ask you if you’re kidding and blatantly tell that it’s the one your’re holding. According to an analysis made by PC World, the reason why Siri’s answer is that it takes data from Wolfram Alpa, and the said knowledgebase gather it’s data from Best Buy customer reviews.
Best Buy’s reviews power Wolfram Alpha’s answers to these types of questions when it comes to electronics. Indeed, Best Buy’s page for the Lumia 900 show those same five glowing reviews. Maybe Wolfram Alpha needs
to rethink its data sources?
So I continued asking Siri regarding the “best of” with the word “ever” in the end. When I ask “What’s the best computer ever?”, it will say “I prefer a Mac”. Ask it “What’s the best laptop ever?”, it will say ” The Apple Macintosh is my favorite computer”. However, If I ask it “what’s the best notebook computer ever?” it will search Wolfram Alpha and come up with a Samsung NP305V5AI followed by Toshiba Qosmio X775-3DV80, then two HP Pavillion notebooks ranked at 4 and 5. Also if you ask the same question without the word “ever”, the same result shows, the same with asking “What’s the best Netbook.
One thing I noticed is that when you ask Siri about something, it will tell you “checking my sources”, then come up with a Wolfram Alpha results. Which means it don’t have a predefined answer for that question and it will show facts saved on the said data base. In fairness with Siri, it indicates that the answer is based on her opinion whenever it comes up with a bias answer. So we should expect Siri to tell bias answers
when people at Apple have computer related question covered, for now let’s get ourselves entertained.
Siri, who’s the sexiest girl ever!
