As the song says “Goodbye my Lover, Goodbye my friend… It had been a while.. It had been a while…” sung by James Blunt. I’ll be saying goodbye to my Good old Buddy my Powermac G5 anytime this soon. I just bought a 24′ iMac from YNZAL and it’ll be arriving this week or early next week.

The feeling is quite a mixed emotion, I’m excited with the new iMac but feeling sad because my buddy.. errrr.. will be leaving for good. Damn it’s been three years and i haven’t named it, okay I’ll name it “Unyo” my first mac, may Junior. Unyo was bought August of 2005 from LMK an apple distributor in Magallanes at around 340,000.00 pesos which had the best deal among the Apple stores that year, the purchase is expensive and almost drained my savings but after 3 years of using it merely for Graphic/Web design, i can say it’s all worth it.

Having Unyo as my main workhorse bring out the creativity in me, helped organize work and my ilife. OS X Tiger’s simplicity made the switch from windows swift and effortless, nine years of using windows was never a hindrance, since then no more virus, no more hardware tweaking, almost no more trip to the PC store, so i can live my life instead and give quality time to work.

I was about to trade it in for the new iMac but the value is abysmal, guess it’s better to just have it on auction. Here’s “Unyo” on Bidshot.

Unyo had made only 1 trip to Ynzal, it was when the screen had overlays of vertical stripes and diagnosed with a busted graphics card, good thing i had it on extended warranty with apple care for 12,000.00 pesos it gave me extra 2 years of peace-of-mind, covered until September 30, 2008 giving the next owner more than a month of warranty.

So if you’re interested please bid on it at bidshot it’s quite a catch right? and oh I’m selling it without monitor. I’m not sure if i’ll be pleased with the iMacs glossy monitor so i might as well use my 23″ ACD as a secondary display.

It’ll be posting more pictures soon.
