Apple’s “Let’s Rock” Event Expectations

It is time for Apple’s “Let’s Rock” Event and there are lots of rumors on what to expect on this day. Let us do some round up on these rumors and then let’s see what what rumor will hit the spot when the show progresses.

Ipod Nano - There are rumors of a tall iPod Nano, then these reports were later confirmed by Digg’s Kevin Rose post on his blog, then bringing us to “leaked photos” of the said tall iPod Nano and the latest will be another “leaked photo” of the iPod Nano in its packaging from Engadget.

iPod Touch - Kevin Rose’s report also said that we will see some minor changes in the iPod Touch. The guys from iLounge got their hands on schematics laying out the new dimensions of both the iPod Nano and iPod Touch. According to these dimensions, the iPod Touch will have a tapered design much like the new iPhone 3G. The new iPod Touch appears to be slightly thicker and taller than the previous one. It also have what appears to be like external volume controls which is absent on the previous models.

iTunes 8.0 - Along with the new iPod Nano and Touch, iTunes 8.0 is said to also get some ugrade. it is expected to arrive with improvements such as Grid View, Genius Playlist, a new Visualizer and possibly support for HD Television Shows.

Firmware 2.1 - iPhone Firmware 2.1 is said to have a feature that has background push-notifications. This push-notification service allows applications to process notifications in the background while they are not actively running on the iPhone. Applications such as a Chat client will be able to notify users that a new instant message has arrived at any time.

While there are still other rumors that has been floating aournd before such as, rainbow colored iPods, turn by turn GPS, Tablet Mac and even Apple CEO Steve Job’s health has been a topic of rumors before, the four above catches our interest the most and will be waiting if these rumors were actually true.
